With a strong dance background and love for expression through movement, Nila has been practicing yoga for over a decade. Recently, her passion and love for yoga shifted after being introduced to the Power Vinyasa practice. By definition, vinyasa means “to flow and move without obstruction”. She truly connected to this notion, and carries it with her both on and off of her mat as a forever grateful student and a teacher of power yoga.
There is a personal meditation through movement that arises through power yoga when one connects breath to movement. Nila believes in creating a space where her students can make their practice their own. Where they can be their true authentic selves, getting out of their minds and into their bodies, finding presence in the moment, and trusting that they are exactly where they need to be.
She teaches a strong, athletic, empowering flow and encourages her students to have fun, let go, and live in the present moment. She teaches at Sanctuary Bodyworks, M.Power Yoga, JDyer Strength and Conditioning and works with local athletic teams and athletes at the collegiate and professional level.
“Stay present and trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be in this moment. Let go of that which no longer serves you, and open up to the freedom and joy within… just breathe” – Nila
